Areas of focus

I have about 10 years of experience working with children in non-clinical environments and 2 years of experience working with children in a therapeutic setting. I primarily work with children, adolescents, and teens from ages 3-17 years old. Most frequently, I support clients with developing emotional regulation skills to manage big emotions, mastering school/life transitions, and learning how to live a mentally healthy and balanced lifestyle. My approach to therapy can be summarized in 3 worlds: compassionate, creative, and confidential.

During sessions I love to utilize art and play-based therapy interventions to show clients that therapy can be fun—and not a chore! I focus on creating a space where clients feel understood, safe, and able to express themselves within various creative outlets. Through the use of these interventions, I help clients develop emotional regulation skills, improve their ability to manage every-day life circumstances, and maximize mental wellness. I also enjoy including parents within session when necessary and providing families with the knowledge of therapeutic strategies that can be implemented at home.

I strongly believe that “Children don’t learn from people that they don’t like” so I make it my highest priority to build strong rapport with clients before fully diving in to therapeutic interventions to ensure that clients feel the most comfortable and supported within our therapeutic relationship before the real work can begin!
